In a move that will raise a big WTF among Raven fans, the team has decided to trade WR Anquan Boldin. Dion Caputi reports via twitter:

#49ers acquire WR Anquan Boldin from #Ravens in exchange for a sixth-round pick, per @ravensinsider.

Boldin was the Ravens go to guy when they needed to move the chains so right now I think it will be quite difficult to replace him with the salary cap situation that the Ravens and all teams are dealing with. The worst thing about winning a championship is that your team is probably not going to be the same next year as the Raven fans are finding out again. But Caputi offers more insight on the trade :

#Ravens were almost sure to release Boldin barring trade offer. Even a sixth-rounder was a bit surprising. Still a definite bargain for SF.

Well there you have it. The Ravens didn’t want to put up the money so a 6th round pick will help them rebuild the defense. Will the Ravens look within their depth chart to replace Boldin or will they look to free agency? Only time will tell folks. Looks like its going to be an interesting free agency folks.
