T.O. was on twitter during Monday Night Football making a plea to the Jets to sign him up but The Jets in return said, “no thanks.” Well that’s not stopping T.O. In an interview on TSN T.O. said this:

“I’ve read a lot of tweets and everybody’s saying that I’m desperate, I’m begging for a job, but it’s not begging for a job when you know you can still play at a high level, given the opportunity. When you have a defensive back playing offense and running routes, then I think that’s more desperate than my actual tweet itself.”

The Jets may be desperate but they are not calling up T.O. Why? Well its not like T.O. is the model team player and he knows this:

“That’s definitely a part of it, I’ve matured. There’s things I’ve done in my career that I can honestly say were said and done out of immaturity.”

Be that as it may. Adding T.O. to this team will definitely change the locker room and probably not for a good thing.

The Jets won their battle against Miami Yesterday but they lost a soldier in the war that is the NFL Season.  All-Pro Cornerback Darrelle Revis tore his ACL and is out for the season. According to Conor Orr/The Star-Ledger :

Revis was approaching Miami running back Daniel Thomas, who had just received a screen pass in open space. Before Revis could get to Thomas, though, he buckled awkwardly and fell to the ground grabbing his left knee.

He eventually walked off the field under his own power and was seen moving without a crutch following the game last night.

 

This is a major blow to the Jets Defense. When you have a shut down corner, teams will rarely throw to that side for fear of a turnover. With Revis out for the season, Rex Ryan will have to adjust his schemes to account for Revis’ absence.  Well he better start planning now because the Jets face the 49ers and Texans up next.

The Jets missed Darelle Revis last week against the Steelers and the team may be without him again this week against the Dolphins. According to NY Daily News’ Seth Walder and Manish Mehta:

Rex Ryan isn’t taking Revis’ return for granted.

“I don’t think you can assume that,” Ryan said about the centerpiece of his defense playing this week. “To the NFL standards, he has to pass those tests. Right now, he looks to be doing well, so hopefully he will be playing.”

Revis said he was not at 100% on Saturday when the team decided he would sit out the Steeler game. He wouldn’t give a number as to his status on Monday, but said he feels better than he did last week.

It goes without saying that the Jets are 10x better with Revis on the field.  The Jets can get an early lead in the AFC East with a win against Miami this week so it will be interesting to see how Revis progresses during the week.

Well the “I’m just happy to be here” train ended early in the Jets soap opera. According to the NY Daily News :

If Tebow remains in his limited role all season, then the source anticipates the QB will sit down with Jets decision-makers and ask them to trade him. His contract runs through the 2014 season, and Tebow is not ready to concede defeat on being a starting quarterback again

 If Sanchez can perform all season like he did week 1, Tebow may just be looking for a new team. The question is who wants a QB that really can’t play QB to start?
