Anna Welker, Wes Welker's wife had some not so nice things to say about Ray Lewis after the Pats lost in the AFCCG

Losing is a hard pill to take and Wes Welker’s wife Anna went the sore loser route and trashed Ray Lewis on her facebook page. She posted:

“Proud of my husband and the Pats. By the way, if anyone is bored, please go to Ray Lewis’Wikipedia page. 6 kids 4 wives. Acquitted for murder. Paid a family off. Yay. What a hall of fame player! A true role model!”

Way to stay classy there. Of course this isn’t the first time a Partiots wife got salty after a loss. I’m sure that someone in the Pats organization was watching the post and got word because she issued and apology statement via sports blog Larry Brown Sports:

“I’m deeply sorry for my recent post on Facebook.” “I let the competitiveness of the game and the comments people were making about a team I dearly love get the best of me. My actions were emotional and irrational and I sincerely apologize to Ray Lewis and anyone affected by my comment after yesterday’s game.

“It is such an accomplishment for any team to make it to the NFL playoffs, and the momentary frustration I felt should not overshadow the accomplishments of both of these amazing teams.”

Of course this is the new way of the world. Say something offensive and then apologize and walk it back. Here a suggestion next time you’re on Facebook, Twitter or whatever and you want to get something off your chest, write it out and then delete it!

What seemed to be just an incomplete pass turned out to be bad news for the Pats as Rob Gronkowski re injured his forearm...

While the Patriots didn’t need their all-pro Tight End Rob Gronkowski to advance to the AFC Conference Championship game, losing him doesn’t increase their chance of winning. While trying to make a catch in the first quarter, Gronk landed right on his forearm in an attempt to break his fall.

As long as the Pats have Brady at QB they always have a chance to win.

The Patriots will host the Ravens next Sunday at 6:30 ET on CBS.

There's been a lot of talk about whether the Pats are trying to phase Wes Welker out of the offense. If you've watched the Patriots the past two weeks, you might feel the same way.

There’s been a lot of talk about whether the Pats are trying to phase Wes Welker out of the offense. If you’ve watched the Patriots the past two weeks, you might feel the same way. Some analysts say its basically the personnel package that has Welker seeing more time on the pine. But Mike Freeman reports that the Pats may be working on a trade for Welker. He reports:

What might be happening here — and the Globe alluded to it — is that the Patriots aren’t phasing Welker out. They are preparing to trade him.

Several league sources said this is more than some remote possibility. This might actually be a probability and the team is seeing if Edelman could fit into Welker’s shoes should the team trade him.

This is more the Patriots Way than a phasing out. A sort of stashing of Welker — and by trading Welker, they would have total control of his destination city. The Patriots traded Randy Moss, and trading Welker before the Oct. 30 deadline would be very Bill Belichick.

Well this could get interesting. Could the Pats be done with Welker’s services? And if they are, what team would trade for him? Well the Dolphins could use a WR but there was a reason they got rid of him in the first place. Stay tuned.
