One thing about being a professional athlete is that you will have to have some thick skin. Greg Rosenthal noticed this little nugget from the Charlotte Observer today:
The Charlotte Observer ran a cartoon in their paper on Wednesday in which Newton is seen striking his “Superman” pose to reveal a t-shirt underneath … with a “Hello Kitty” logo. Newton’s though bubble reads: “I like to pretend there’s a big ‘S’ on my chest.”
This comes on the heels of Newton sulking on the Panthers bench to end last week’s game, but this cartoon seems as out of touch as the existence of newspaper cartoons in general.
While Cam’s sulking may not have been good for the team or his image, understand that this is a 2nd year QB that is still adjusting to the NFL. In the future, Cam has to learn to keep his game face on now matter what the score is.
