Ever since Colin Kaepernick got the nod to be the starter at QB and played beyond expectations, Alex Smith knew his days were numbered. CBSSports.com reports that the 49ers are expected to try and trade Smith this offseason, given the $8.5 million he’s owed in 2013. Don’t really know who’s gonna take that offer from a QB that basically was a bust until Jim Harbaugh took over. The other option is one Smith is hoping for is the outright release from the 49ers. This isn’t the best option team wise just to let go of a player the organization has spent a lot of money on but with the money Smith is owed, I’m not sure how many other teams are willing to take that risk.
Looks like its going to be a wild off season.
